The International Chornobyl Center Council of Members Meeting took place
A meeting of the International Chornobyl Center (ICC) Council of Members took place in Kyiv on December 9, 2005.
Representatives of the ICC member-countries from Ukraine, the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan participated in the meeting. Also, delegates from the Embassies of USA, Germany, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Korea, Turkey, Sweden, and Czech Republic were present at the Council of Members.
The results of the 10-year international cooperation under the ICC were summed up during the meeting. The Council of Members made a decision to support the Chornobyl Center effort aimed at winning national and international contracts on the competitive basis, promoting the Center’s services at the national and international levels.
The participants of the meeting discussed the directions to further develop international cooperation of the ICC member-countries. Possibilities for attracting new members to ICC were considered. The Chornobyl Center submitted its proposals on cooperation in the area of nuclear and radiation safety, radioecology and informational activities to the participants of the meeting.
The Council has also approved a plan of the ICC activities to commemroate the 20-th anniversary of the Chornobyl accident.
