Technical tour for representatives of the National Fire Academy of the Netherlands
Client: The National Fire Academy of the Netherlands
Objective: familiarization with experience of the Chornobyl disaster liquidation, current works at the Shelter Object, radiation situation of the ChEZ, works on radiation and fire protection of civilians and workers of the ChEZ.
The technical tour took place on 19-22 June 2017. Several organizational activities were made during the preparation and conduction of the tour (drawing up of permit documents for work within the ChEZ, meeting and accommodation of the participants, presentation of the ChC, interaction with the administration of the State Fire and Rescue Brigade of Chornobyl town, etc.).
The tour participants met with the Chornobyl Center’s specialists, visited a museum of Chornobyl in Kyiv, and met with liquidators of the Chornobyl catastrophe. During a technical visit to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone the guests saw the New Safety Confinement of the Shelter Object, learned about the history of its construction and the current state of the accident Unit, visited the unit control room of the ChNPP Unit 1 reactor, Pripyat town, held meetings with colleagues from the State Fire and Rescue Brigade of Chornobyl town at the territory of SSE ChNPP and in Chornobyl, visited the museum and the memorial “Zirka Polyn” in Chornobyl.
