Project Objective:
Assess radioecology situation within the Chornobyl NPP industrial site, its changes and dependency on the type of industrial activity, as well as determine those radioecology monitoring methods ensuring the most adequate control over ecological conditions within the territory.
Performance of activities :
- collection and analysis of available, published information regarding radioecology status characteristics within the territory of the Chornobyl NPP industrial site, industrial activity covering decommissioning of the ChNPP units and the Shelter Object transformation into an ecologically safe system;
- sampling and measurement of contamination in soil, plants, and groundwater; radiation gamma-survey of the principal roads and territories adjacent to industrial facilities;
- in vitro measurement of the radionuclides contained in samples;
- study of the results provided by routine monitoring of the territory.
