The quality and accuracy of radioactivity measurements at the Chornobyl Center have been confirmed internationally
At the invitation of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection of Germany, the Chornobyl Center was participated the proficiency test for the determination of gamma emitters of radionuclides in water samples.
Gamma spectrometry measurements were performed by 27 laboratories as part of this testing.
The aim of the proficiency test was on the one hand, to offer the laboratories an opportunity for external quality control and on the other hand to investigate if the parameters are determined precisely and true.
The Chornobyl Center has shown high accuracy of measurements, which testifies to the correspondence of the professional level of specialists of the Center, measurement methods and laboratory equipment to the world quality standards in this field.
