Development of The Method to Determine Activity of Waste Produced by The South Ukrainian NPP

Project objective: develop a methodical document to determine radioactivity of liquid and solid waste produced by the South Ukrainian NPP based on the analysis of radioactive isotopes’ specific activity and on the comparative analysis of isotope composition of liquid and solid RAW.

Research results:

In the course of the project performance, measurement results of isotopes’ radioactivity in liquid and solid waste were obtained, correlation factors between key gamma-emitting isotopes and other components were calculated. The method was developed based on the measurement results. The method may be used as a basic instrument to control receipt of radioactive isotopes by liquid and solid RAW storage facilities.
