Protection against CBRN-threats: Establishment of a network of the training centers
A kick-off meeting dedicated to the establishment of a network of the training institutions of the South-Eastern and Eastern Europe (SEEE) on protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats was held on 22-23 May 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The SEEE’s organizations presented their capabilities and best practices in conducting trainings in the field of identification, countermeasures and prevention of CBRN-threats, discussed problematic issues in conducting training on this subject and proposed ways for their solution.
The EU CBRN CoE Regional Coordinator for South-Eastern and Eastern Europe Francesco Miorin announced the idea to establish a network of such organizations and Internet resource where full information about these organizations and their capabilities, as well as detailed training programmes that may be organized on their basis, and information about experts in this field will be presented.
The meeting was attended by 30 representatives from Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Ukraine. The Chornobyl Center was represented at this meeting by Head of the Information Department Svitlana Chesnokova.
