Visit of the representatives of the Institute of Radiochemistry and Radioecology (Hungary) to the ChEZ
On 31st of July and 1st of August 2017 a group of 8 people headed by PhD Tibor Kovacs, representatives of the Institute of Radiochemistry and Radioecology of the University of Pannonia (Hungary), visited the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. On the first day of the visit they were provided with the general information about the Exclusion Zone and the state of its radioactive contamination, and they had an opportunity to visit the Chornobyl city, Pripyat city and some abandoned villages in the ChEZ. During the second day the group visited the pavilion of the Shelter Object and SSE ‘Chornobyl NPP’.
The visit was organized by the representatives of SSRI ‘Chornobyl Center for Nuclear Safety, Radioactive Waste and Radioecology’, likewise the next day after the visit to the ChEZ, the scientists and specialists from Hungary had an opportunity to visit the Chornobyl Center and to discuss the possibility of the joint research in Radioecology in the ChEZ and the preparation of the joint methodologies on RAW characterization.
