Training course for colleagues from Indonesia
The first part of the training was held from September 29 to October 11, 2019 in Odessa, Ukraine «Fate and behaviour of radionuclide in marine environment, Advanced of emergency preparedness and Distribution modelling by physical and numerical hydrodynamic approach».
The training was organized by the Chornobyl Center commissioned by the National Nuclear Energy Agency of Indonesia (BATAN). The course participants are seven scientists from the marine radioecology group of the BATAN radioecology department. This is the third training course organized by the experts of the Chornobyl Center for colleagues from Indonesia. The first two training courses took place in 2016 and 2017.
The first part of the training was devoted to questions «Fate and behaviour of radionuclides in marine environment. Black Sea ecosystem: features of structural and functional characteristics» and «Advanced of emergency preparedness. Migration and distribution of radionuclides in the Black Sea».
The course of lectures was held on the basis of State Institution «Institute of Marine Biology of NAS of Ukraine».
Aleksandrov Borys (Director of State Institution “Institute of Marine Biology of NAS of Ukraine”, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Laureate of State Prize for Science and Technology of Ukraine) and Tomilin Yuriy (Head of Research Institute of Radiation and Technogenic-Ecological Safety of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Ecological Academy of Sciences).
The training will continue from October 15 to October 26, 2019 in Slavutych. The topics of the following lectures are: “Distribution modelling of radionuclide by physical and numerical hydrodynamic approach”, as well as practical lessons on the measurement of radionuclides in environmental samples and a technical visit to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
